WASTE AWARE NORTH EAST

THE NORTH EAST
A campaign designed to inform businesses across the North East of England and beyond about upcoming simpler recycling legislation that will affect their trade waste management. The campaign aims to ensure businesses are fully prepared and equipped to comply with the new regulations.
We are working with partners to deliver this campaign and support businesses with their trade waste management
Toolkit and assets
New Simpler Recycling regulations will soon require organisations to separate recyclable materials from general waste.
From the 31st March 2025 businesses will need to separate the following groups of recyclable materials:

Glass, metal and plastic

Cardboard and paper
-
Food as a dedicated collection
The new guidelines apply to all businesses, healthcare establishments and academic institutions, with more than 10 full-time employees.
We've been working with partners to develop a toolkit and supporting assets to help raise awareness with all eligible organisations in your networks.
