Whatever Your Sector, There is a Helpful Simpler Recycling Guide Available

Writer: WANEWANE

Whether you are an office, in hospitality or retail, there is a guide available to help your organisation comply with the new Simpler Recycling regulations.

The new legislation, which comes into effect on 31st March 2025, means organisations with 10 or more full time equivalent employees are required to separate food waste and dry recycling from general waste collection. This includes organisations such as businesses, schools, hospitals and other non-household municipal premises.

Waste Aware North East have produced a generalised organisational guide to clarify what is expected of organisations to ensure they comply with upcoming legislation. For more detailed guidance on your specific sector, WRAP has developed a number of helpful guides to support organisations each step of their journey.

The information covers offices, hospitality, health and social care, retail and wholesale, education, food manufacturing, and all other workspaces.

The guides take workplaces through each of the five steps to implementing the new recycling regulations which come into force on 31st March 2025.

Jo Holmes, director of Genee Consulting said: “The step-by-step tips are aimed at helping businesses to get the most from their current waste collection service, design a recycling system that works for their workplace, service users, visitors and employees and ensure workplaces comply with the new regulations.”
